I ♥ Bedford Baking Studio. They just opened up in my neighborhood, and quickly became my favorite coffee shop along Bedford Avenue, land of coffee shops. It’s very cute inside, and the food there (all homemade) looks really delicious. Although I am not a big pastry person, I can tell when something looks quality. They also have little lunchy snacks as well.
The espresso-based drinks and coffee are my real interest here, however. The coffee, both iced and hot is very flavorful, I like it better than both Oslo and Black Brick nearby. Their espresso based drinks are significantly better than other coffee shops on the area, and their service and hospitality is also much better. Overall, it’s a friendly place to stop in and get your caffeine fix, it’s decorated nicely, and the prices and product are wonderful indeed! Simple and sweet, just what we needed around here…
UPDATE: 1/24/2013 – Yesterday, I woke up stressed and hungover. I had slept for about 2 hours if that and felt like curling up in a ball in darkness for a solid 48 hours. Then the most curious thing happened. I was running late, I needed a shower, it was overall not a great start to the day. Lucky for me, BBS is right next to the bus stop, so if there isn’t a ton of people waiting I know I have time to grab a coffee. I went in, it was warm, there was incense burning, and the nice (and kind of cute) guy who works there asked my upon entrance if I had done any adventurous things lately. He then informed me that the time was ripe to do so, handed me my coffee and I said “this day now has hope,” at which point an awesome Shins song came on my Spotify and the bus pulled right up to get me. It was a great bus ride to the subway, and I was feeling good. At least until my L train got delayed for 30 minutes and work was brutal.
