Happy Monday, everybody. As usual, I’ve got coffee on my mind. It’s a dark, dreary day here in New York and so the only way work was going to be a tolerable concept was: a big comfy grey sweater (and my black pants that totally look like black pants but are really made out of sweatshirt material… take that Corporate America), and a big, strong coffee. Black Brick uses Stumptown, particularly their Hair Bender variety. It’s more than just their witty signage that makes me want to go inside. The interior is relaxing, with lots of tables and room to chill. It’s dark and cozy in there, so it’s not bright and crazy like Oslo can so often be. I even conducted some business out of Black Brick during the hurricane. My favorite drink to get there is their cortado. Their spinach and feta turnovers are also crave-worthy, and their service friendly.
Their coffee is standard in coffee-shop price, but in my opinion tastier and stronger than that of Oslo (that and their cups don’t leak… *cough, Oslo, cough*). All in all Black Brick is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood and I love it and wish them many years of continued success. Photo above by Cabell Tice.
