I’ll follow this truck anywhere.
One of my favorite food trucks in New York serves only vegan food. Yes, you heard right. Vegan food. The vegan ninjas of The Cinnamon Snail crank out sandwiches, burgers, and burritos, among other things. But besides that, this truck got a whole lotta sweets.
When waiting for your breakfast or lunch, you’re greeted by the welcoming display of fresh daily pastries and desserts. It’s forever changing but they have a few staples and specials worth checking out if you’re lucky to find the truck around town. Particularly, the cherry chocolate pretzel cheesecake donuts and tiramisu donuts are a real treat and yes, entirely decadent and overwhelming. At $2 – $4 a treat, you can’t go wrong with any one of their desserts. Although 100% vegan, you can’t taste any glaringly obvious disparities nor should you expect these to be healthy. They’re actually really rich and greasy and having more than one at a time might render you incapacitated for the rest of your afternoon (trust me, I know).
But if the specials don’t pique your interest, you can never go wrong with their namesake, a gigantic cinnamon roll (perfect for sharing!) or their award-winning vanilla bourbon creme brulee donuts (I’m not kidding; it’s actually won awards). The rich donut has a creamy custard center, bruleed and made from vanilla and Maker’s Mark bourbon. No need to question that. Just eat it.
They also have other desserts like brownies, cookies, rice krispies, and even twinkies. I suggest getting on line now. Trust me, it’s worth it.
